This series was developed based on meetings held with "The Chicago Coalition for Interreligious Learning : Catholics, Jews, and Muslims Working Together." Dr. Laleh Bakhtiar has an M.A. in Counseling Psychology and an M.A. in Counseling Psychology and an M.A. in Philosophy with a concentration in Religious Studies. She has a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and is a licensed pyschotherapist in the State of Illinois. Her life's work has been to pioneer the revival of traditional Islamic psychology which is based on ethics. She is author of over twenty books.

Writings and translations of Bakhtiar frequently work to advance a better comprehension of Islamic principles and teachings.
