A lot of important topics are covered, but...where are the references?!

I was very excited to read this book. I read half of the book in one sitting and was completely disappointed, because it's just opinions and vague references. Nothing substantial to back it up. I love to research the facts and read them for myself. I can't do that with this book. It's lacking proper references. I didn't bother finishing the book.
