About This Book
What lies before the reader is an explanation by Shaykh Ahmad al-Najmi-may Allah have mercy on him-of five foundational treatises in 'Aqidah authored by Imam Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab: Al-Usûl al-Thalathah, Al-Uşül al-Sittah, Al-Qawa'id al-Arba', Nawaqid al-Islam, and Kashf al-Shubuhat. These essential works outline the knowledge incumbent upon every believer to safeguard their religion and protect it from corruption. Through them, the believer gains clarity in creed and protection from shirk, which enters the heart through ignorance and doubt. In these treatises, Imam Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab establishes the foundations of the religion and the principles by which iman is preserved, while Shaykh Ahmad al-Najmi elucidates their meanings, evidences, and objectives with precision and clarity. The discussion begins with the requisite knowledge every servant must possess: knowledge of Allah, knowledge of His religion, and knowledge of His Messenger, supported by proofs. It then moves to the universal principles upon which the religion stands, including sincerity in worship, recognition of authentic knowledge and its scholars, obedience within the bounds of the Shari'ah, and firm adherence to the Quran and Sunnah. From there, the reality of Tawhid is clarified and the avenues of shirk exposed, the beliefs and actions that nullify Islam are made manifest, and doubts that veil the truth are dismantled. Whoever grasps these principles will be able to distinguish guidance from misguidance and Tawhid from shirk. Such knowledge is a safeguard for the heart and a guiding light, by which the believer is preserved-by Allah's permission-from falling into the darkness of shirk and deviating from the straight path."
