Description
About This Book:
Yahya ibn Sharaf al-Nawawi was born in the Syrian hamlet of Nawa. His life was mostly focused in Damascus, where he maintained a modest living fully dedicated to Allah's service. He was a conscientious scholar with a thorough comprehension of numerous facets of Islam.
Despite his death at the age of 44, Imam Nawawi left behind a significant corpus of work. Among his most famous pieces are:
  • "An-Nawawi's Forty Hadith" (Arba'un Nabawi).
  • "Al-Nawawi's Manual of Islam" (al-Maqasid).
  • "Kitab al-Adhkar" (Remembrance Book)
  • "Riyadhus Saleheen" means "Riyadhus Saleheen."
  • "Minhaj al-Talibin" (required reading for Shafi'i school of Islamic law)
  • "Sharh Sahih Muslim" (where he pioneered the categorization of hadiths from the Sahih Muslim)
While Imam Yahya ibn Sharaf al-Nawawi had a considerable effect on the subsequent development of the Shafi'i school of Islamic jurisprudence, it is his contributions to the area of hadith that will live on
